Week 2-Creating my blog

To create my blog I started a new blog on blogspot.com. The title can be anything, but the address must be unique. It took me a few tries to find a custom address. I could add a custom domain, once I created the blog. When I started I chose the Simple layout with the intent to change it later.

  I decided to adjust the template first. I like the general setup of the Simple template and decided to keep it. I did not like the orange color scheme. To change the colors, I went to customize, then background.

I chose one of the available stock backgrounds, but I could have uploaded my own image or simply kept a plain color background. Once I chose an image, I clicked done and apply to blog.

Now that I like the background, I accessed the layout from the main blogger screen. The template offers links to add a gadget. There is a library of gadgets, including and easy Paypal button, which I added to my blog.

Creating and changing my blog was easy and straight forward. A quick Google search provides answers for common blogspot questions. Most of the answers are from Google itself, as blogspot is owned by Google. I have mixed feelings about using a site that is part of the Google conglomeration but it is a good tool.
